Energieverbrauchskennzeichnung von Lichtquellen (Energy consumption labeling of light sources)
As of September 1, 2021, another stage of the new EU Regulation 2019/2015, which redefines the labeling of light sources, will become effective. Since the end of 2019, luminaires (ambient products of the light source) no longer require an Energielabel. From September 1, 2021, only the new labeling of light sources will be mandatory. This applies to all light sources with a luminous flux between 60 and 82,000 lumens and OLED. Various new obligations for manufacturers and retailers come into effect for these.
Legal Background
The exact legal backgrounds are specified in EU-Verordnung 2019/2015 and the Rahmenverordnung 2017/1369.
Manufacturer's Obligations
Every independent light source must:
Have a printed label.
Be registered in the EPREL product database (contents of the datasheet and technical documentation).
Include the energy efficiency class and the energy efficiency class spectrum in advertising.
Include the energy efficiency class and the energy efficiency class spectrum in online representations.
Provide the trade with an electronic label and product datasheet.
Provide a new label for reclassification of products upon request from the trade.
Every surrounding product must:
Include information about the contained light source(s).
Provide information to market surveillance authorities on how light sources can be removed for verification without permanent damage to the light source.
The energy efficiency class is calculated according to Annex II of the regulation.
Wholesaler’s Obligations
Every independent light source must:
Display the label, where the label or energy efficiency class is clearly visible in accordance with Annex III.
Provide the label and product datasheet in distance selling.
Include the energy efficiency class and the energy efficiency class spectrum in advertising and online representation.
Replace existing labels of light sources at points of sale within eighteen months from the entry into force of this regulation with the newly scaled labels in a way that covers the existing label, even if it was printed on the packaging or attached to the packaging.
Transmission in DQR 7.0
The transmission of the energy efficiency class according to the new regulation and the new energy label is not possible in one of the defined attribute systems in DQR 7. To achieve uniform transmission and automatic processing, the following recommendation is made.
The transmission of the energy efficiency class is done as an individual attribute within the article attributes. The following data is provided:
Content | Value |
Attribute system | Constant “INDIV” |
Attribute class | Is not used |
Attribute name | Constant “EEK Leuchtmittel 2019/2015” |
Attribute value 1 | Indication of energy efficiency class 'A' to 'G' |
Attribute value 2 | Is not used |
Attribute unit | Is not used |
Attribute value description | Is not used |
The transmission of the label and the data sheet continues as before within the documents. The document types 'ErP Label' and 'Datenblatt' (Datasheet) are used.
Example
Article number | Attribute system | Attribute class | Attribute name | Attribute value | Attribute value 2 | Attribute unit | Attribute value description |
4711 | INDIV | - | EEK Leuchtmittel 2019/2015 | C | - | - | - |
The information 'Attribute class,' 'Attribute value 2,' 'Attribute unit,' and 'Attribute value description' must not be provided.
