Alternative-, discounted- and successor article are articles that are similar to the original article and can be used as substitutes. Consequently, alternative articles must be available in the product range. A discontinued article is an item that will be removed from the product range in the future. It is marked with a discontinuation date in the dataset. If there is a successor article for the discontinued item, it is appropriately flagged, and the factory article number of the successor article is required. Up to three successor articles can be specified if necessary. For discontinued articles, all data such as prices, images, dimensions, and weights, etc., must still be provided.
