Description
The short text is required for the description and identification of an article throughout the entire business process. This is essential not only during initial processing but especially for the further use of the short text without revision in downstream systems, such as in offers or invoices.
It provides a clear, readable, understandable, and product-relevant limited description of an article. The short text consists of 80 characters, composed of two lines of 40 characters each. The short text does not include marketing aspects, and text duplicates are to be avoided.
Exception: For spare parts, short text duplicates are allowed, with the inclusion of the article number in the short text ensuring uniqueness if necessary.

Maintaining an attribute order is relevant for data quality, as long as provided information about the respective attributes can be supplied. This attribute order pertains to Short Texts 1 and 2:
