Grundartikel (Base article)

Description

For all articles billed with the basic units piece, pair, set, or dozen, the dimensions and weight of the base article must be provided.

The length, width, and height are derived from a (conceptual) cuboid around the base article. "Length" and "width" describe the footprint of the packaged product in "typical" storage.

The gross weight must be greater than or equal to the net weight. When using bags, the maximum possible dimensions of the bag (length, width, height) form the basis for the dimensional specifications.

The following dimensions and weights are provided:

Description

Structure

Length

Length in mm of the packaged base article including packaging

Decimal number

Width

Width in mm of the packaged base article including packaging

Decimal number

Height

Height in mm of the packaged base article including packaging

Decimal number

Weight

Weight in kg of the base article

Decimal number

Number of packaging pieces

Quantity indicating how many packages constitute a base article. For example, a shower enclosure is delivered in 2 boxes (=2 packages)

Integer

If the base article is generally individually packaged, then the dimensions and weight, including packaging, should be specified.

Example Faucet

Billed per piece, typically individually packaged:

Relevant information for the example faucet:

  • Unit of Measure: Piece

  • Price Basis: 1

  • Minimum Order Quantity: 1

  • Minimum Order Quantity Unit: Piece

  • Dimensions of the Base Article: Dimensions (Length, Width, Height) of the packaging: 545x192x73mm

  • Weight of the Base Article: Weight (g) including packaging: 2.1 kg

  • Packaging Unit 1 (PU 1): Carton, 8 pieces; 575x370x365, Weight of the carton: 18.15 kg

  • Packaging Unit 2 (PU 2): Carton, 16 pieces; 590x780x375, Weight of the carton: 37.45 kg

If the base article is generally unpackaged or not individually packaged, then the dimensions and weight without packaging should be provided.

Example Screw

Charged per piece, typically not individually packaged:

Relevant information for the example of a screw:

  • Unit Price: Per piece

  • Price Basis: 1

  • Minimum Order Quantity: 250

  • Minimum Order Quantity Unit: Pieces

  • Dimensions of the Base Article: (Length, Width, Height) of the individual screw

  • PU 1: Carton of 250 pieces; 64 x 126 x 60, Weight of the carton

  • PU 2: Carton of 4500 pieces; 304 x 205 x 198, Weight of the carton

For articles billed by length, area, volume, or weight, specifying the dimensions and weight of the base article is not required.

Example of a stud plate

Billed per square meter:

Relevant information for the example of a stud plate:

  • Pricing Unit: m2

  • Price Basis: 1

  • Minimum Order Quantity: 9.6

  • Minimum Order Quantity Unit: m2

For articles consisting of multiple packages (Number of Packages not equal to 1), providing dimensions and weight for each individual package is not required. The dimensions of multiple packages cannot currently be transmitted.

Recommendation: Transmit the total weight of all packages and the dimensions of the imaginary cuboid around all packages.
