Batterieinformationen (Battery information)
Starting from January 1, 2020, for lithium batteries and products containing them, a summary of the results from the prescribed tests must be provided to any natural or legal person in the supply chain.
The proof must be in the form of the standardized UN 38.3 report of the United Nations. This legislation already covers products manufactured after June 30, 2003.
Even household technology includes relevant products, such as electronic fittings with batteries, cosmetic mirrors with rechargeable batteries, or pressing tools with batteries. The necessary information for these has not yet been determined.
Articles containing lithium batteries and subject to labeling according to the currently valid ADR must be appropriately marked (Lithium battery marking). For labeled articles, the additional document <UN 38.3 Report> must be associated with the article and transmitted.
Furthermore, it must be indicated whether the article receives appropriate labeling during shipping (Battery pictogram).
